when words fail me, which is often, I paint. When words work for me and are available on time, I am surprised.

Sell Out

I am incredibly far behind in my paper world. I get tired of paying all those bills. I would rather go shopping. I am Goldie Hawn as Private Benjamin, "I want to go to lunch." I am Bartleby the Scrivener to the Nth degree, "I'd prefer not to".

I plow through the unopened bills and reports and enter them into the computer anyway.

As a child of the seventies I never thought I would say this:

Happiness is. . .putting a yellow address label on your quarterly 940 tax report.

I love money and money loves me!

I am such a sell out!

You better love money if you want any.

You are not a sell out, you are a realist.

Winston Churchill once said, "Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has not heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains."

While I don't agree exactly (I'm over 50 and still quite liberal), I've had to accept the realities that come with mortgages and obligations and meeting a payroll for 16 folks twice each month.

I'm guessing your "sell-out" is much the same--an acknowledgement of simple truths.
