when words fail me, which is often, I paint. When words work for me and are available on time, I am surprised.

And Then (oh the cost of my self importance)

I got a speeding ticket yesterday.

It was my first one in 12 years.

I used to drive fast all the time, but that was a long time ago.

Really; I lost my "driving privileges" in three states, yes, three.

I was running late to a Sunday appointment.

I was meeting with a new client.

I was going 70 in a 55.

At least that's what the cop said.

I can't believe it.

I think I was only going 65.

He took fifteen minutes to write me the damned ticket, while I waited in my car.

Lights flashing the entire time

In front of god and everybody.

As if I had all day.

Could buzz head not understand!!!

70 in a 55 doesn't really sound all that bad to me. Though perhaps because 55 zones were bumped up to 60 around here recently...

Uggh. I only speed when I'm running late. So, most of the time. The few times I'm not late, I actually pay attention and try to drive the speed limit. I usually try to drive below it on the side streets that have houses by the street, cause I wish people would drive slowly on the street by us, where we wait for the school bus and see cars speeding by all the time. Sorry about the ticket, but good job on going so long! I won't say anything about my record, lest I jinx myself. Knocking wood...
